Tropical Storm Lala has formed in the Central Pacific and is barreling toward the Hawaiian Islands, where heavy rain, strong winds and dangerous surf are expected by late Friday.Lala strengthened from a tropical depression Thursday, and the storm will likely impact the islands through Sunday.
