The 1st Western Indian Ocean (WIO) Scalable Marine Science Communication Lab, held in Johannesburg, South Africa on 13-17 April 2026, was designed to transform how marine researchers in the WIO region interact with diverse audiences, bridging the gap between science and society to influence policy.
